OdCNP, Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, and Bodrum+ Institute (Turkey) with the support of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority and the Lounsbery Foundation organize the XII. OdCNP International Summer School “Responding to New Nuclear Realities: Concepts and Actions”, which is held in Bodrum on October 10-14, 2022. The main aim is to prepare the young generation of nonproliferation and arms control experts across Europe and the Black Sea Region for the current trends in the field of nuclear weapons policy, arms control; disarmament; and nonproliferation.
The Summer School also aims to promote the next generation´s analytical and independent thinking, as well as to exchange views and make lasting contacts with regional and international experts, and to advance presentation and negotiation skills through the use of tabletop exercises.
Main Topics of the Workshop:
• Nuclear deterrence;
• Arms control;
• Missiles and Disruptive technologies;
• The NPT and the TPNW;
• War on Ukraine and the consequences for Arms control and International Security
Eligibility:
Undergraduate, BA, and MA students of the universities (social sciences and technical specialties), young experts.
The Summer School will be conducted in English.
Scholarship:
The International Summer School will be offered in a hybrid format allowing for in-person and virtual participation. There will be a limited number of scholarships available to cover the in-person participation expenses, including travel, accommodation and meals.
